Fans Feel Betrayed
The timing couldn’t have been worse. The post went up on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which made people even angrier. Fans called it tone-deaf and accused Kim of ignoring MLK while spotlighting Melania.
Kim has always been kind of vague when it comes to politics. Sure, she worked with Donald Trump during his presidency to help with prison reform, but she’s never been openly pro-Trump. This post, however, seemed to send a totally different vibe.
Kim and the Trumps: A Messy History
Kim and the Trump family have some history, and it’s… complicated. During Trump’s first term, she visited the White House a bunch of times to push for prison reform. She even helped a few people get released from prison.
But things apparently got messy after Trump left office. Rumor has it, Kim asked him for help with another clemency case at Mar-a-Lago, and he shut her down. Why? He reportedly thought she voted for Joe Biden in 2020. Awkward, right?
Kim never revealed who she voted for, but she did publicly praise Trump for supporting her work. Still, their relationship seems icy now.
Melania’s Outfit Was a Whole Thing
Meanwhile, let’s talk about Melania. Her inauguration look totally blew up online. Some people loved her oversized hat and sleek coat, calling her a fashion queen. Others, though, used the opportunity to bring back those wild “Melania body double” conspiracy theories.
Kim’s choice to highlight Melania’s style didn’t sit well with her followers. Many of them felt like it clashed with Kim’s usual progressive image.
